About Tim

Tim is an award winning natural history photographer based in Dorset. He’s had a passion for the natural world from a very early age.  In 2007 he completed a National Diploma in Photography and since then hasn’t been able to put down a camera. This then led him to further study, going on to gain a BA in Marine and Natural History Photography followed by an MA in Television Production at University College Falmouth.

Very soon after graduating, he was presented with the Sophie Smoliar Scholarship by the International Photographic Council, awarded to a European student who majors in photo-imaging with outstanding achievement.
Since then he has gone on to receive a number of national and international awards.

Tim recently has devoted a lot time to working on 'Meet Your Neighbours', a project aimed at revealing the biodiversity of a particular location, which in Tim's case is his Worcestershire garden. With the aid of his field studio, Tim has created a diverse selection of images portraying the hidden creatures that are often overlooked in gardens throughout the UK.

Tim has keen interests in all areas of photography but his key passion lies in capturing the beauty and diversity of the natural world.
He believes his role as a photographer is to allow people to see the beauty in nature and if possible to provoke a reaction which in turn will encourage them to help preserve the natural world.
